This is one of the recipes we have been making the longest. It has been in our breakfast repertoire for easily the last 10 years. It is very versatile and the fruits can change with the seasons or to your liking. In fact over the years we’ve tried making it with varying ingredients (and proportions) based on what we’ve had on hand, or simply for the sake of changing it up. The amounts below are approximate and can, of course, be adjusted to your preferences… And it is Calla Approved!
8-10oz Organic Almond Milk - store bought or homemade (homemade recipe coming soon)
1 Organic Banana
1/4 cup Organic Peanut Butter - store bought or homemade (homemade recipe coming soon)
You could use Organic Almond Butter instead if you like
1/3 cup Fresh or Frozen Organic Blueberries
1 Tbsp Hemp Hearts (Can be found online or locally)
1/2 tsp Hawaiian Spirulina
3 Dates (pits removed of course)
1/4 - 1/2 cup Fresh or Frozen Organic Spinach and/or Kale
Some possible optional additions:
- 1/2 Organic Apple
- A squeeze of Local Honey
- A pinch of Pink Sea Salt
~ Place all ingredients into your favorite blender and blend until super smooth. You may want to add a handful of ice cubes if you didn’t use any frozen ingredients, unless you prefer a less cold smoothie. That’s it! Super simple, super yummy and nutritious… The perfect post yoga practice breakfast. Enjoy!
