Tai Chi 24 Forms – Level 1 (Foundations)

Wednesdays 1:30-2:30pm With Marty Zombro, 6 Week Series Starts 4/15/26. Cost is $120 drop in for $25

This beginner-friendly class introduces students to the foundational principles and early movements of the 24 Forms sequence. Emphasis is placed on proper posture, slow and mindful transitions, basic stances, breath awareness, and simple weight shifting. Students will learn to move with ease while cultivating balance, coordination, and relaxation. As time allows, we will also explore simple Qigong exercises to support energy awareness, gentle strengthening, and relaxation. No prior experience is necessary—this class is ideal for those new to Tai Chi or anyone wishing to revisit the basics in a supportive environment.

Tai Chi 24 Forms – Level 2 (Building the Sequence)

Wednesdays 3-4pm With Marty Zombro, 6 Week Series Starts 4/15/26. Cost is $120 drop in for $25

Designed for students who are familiar with the opening portion of the 24 Forms, Level 2 continues building the sequence while refining alignment, flow, and continuity. We deepen awareness of breath and movement, explore smoother transitions, and begin linking postures into longer sections. As time allows, Qigong practices may be introduced to enhance circulation, vitality, and mind-body connection. This class supports increased strength, stability, and mental focus while encouraging a meditative, moving practice.

Tai Chi 24 Forms – Level 3 (Refinement & Integration)

Wednesdays 4:30-5:30pm With Marty Zombro, 6 Week Series Starts 4/15/26. Cost is $120 drop in for $25

Designed for students who have learned most or all of the 24 Forms, this class emphasizes continuity, smoother transitions, and deeper mind-body connection. We focus on refining alignment, cultivating steady breath awareness, and developing a more fluid, integrated practice. Qigong exercises may be incorporated as time allows to support energetic balance, internal awareness, and overall vitality.

Tai Chi 24 Forms – Level 4 (Intermediate)

Tuesdays 5-6pm With Marianne Walch, 6 Week Series Starts March 17th

Cost is $120 drop in for $25

This ongoing Intermediate class focuses on refining and deepening your practice of the Yang Style 24 Forms—the most well-known and widely practiced Tai Chi set. Designed for students who are already familiar with the full sequence, we emphasize greater fluidity, internal awareness, and energetic connection. Various Tai Chi and Qigong practices may also be incorporated to enhance vitality, balance, and integration of the form. Suitable for those comfortable performing the Yang Style 24 Forms.

Tai Chi and Qigong are mind-body practices designed to cultivate life force energy, or “Qi.” Consisting of fluid, gentle movements that are relaxed and slow in tempo, they are a powerfully holistic approach to better health. Tai Chi can be practiced almost anywhere and is a suitable form of exercise for just about anyone, regardless of age or fitness level. Benefits include improved strength and balance, stress relief, flexibility, better organ function, and improved concentration. Plus, it’s fun and easy to learn!

Yang Style Tai Chi and Qigong 

Marianne is CoDirector of the Silver Lotus Training Institute in Rehoboth Beach, where she leads programs in Tai Chi for Health, as well as other tai chi and qigong classes, workshops, and instructor trainings. She also is a Master Trainer with the international Tai Chi for Health Institute, authorized to train and certify instructors in the TCHI programs. She is a professional member of the National Qigong Association and has served on the Board and Executive Committee of the United States Tai Chi Community. Marianne trained yoga instructors for many years before discovering the practice of tai chi in the early 2000’s. Now she focuses primarily on tai chi and qigong, specializing in modifying practices to be suitable and safe for anyone. A special love is tai chi sword forms.

 Marianne recently retired from her job as Director of Estuary Science and Restoration for the nonprofit organization Delaware Center for the Inland Bays and is delighted to be free now to teach more tai chi! Other passions include hiking, birding, kayaking, cats, reading, and gardening.
